Laboratory of nondestructive testing

The laboratory is certified by the unified conformance evaluation system in the field of industrial, ecological safety in energetics and construction in accordance with requirements of "Certification rules and main requirements to laboratories of nondestructive testing". The laboratory has additional certification for working in the system of TRANSNEFT JSC.

The laboratory conducts radiographic inspection, supersonic inspection, dye-penetrant inspection and visual inspection control of equipment and materials when manufacturing, constructing, assembling, servicing, renovating and technical diagnosing of boil inspection objects, gas transmission (distribution) systems, lifting devices, equipment of oil and gas industry, objects of explosive and flammable, petrochemical and chemically-hazardous productions, buildings and constructions (building projects), metalware.

Our experts are certified in accordance with requirements of personnel certification in the field of nondestructive testing. They all have specialized education and long-term working experience.

The laboratory is furnished with up-to-date equipment and materials for all types of inspection.


Supersonic inspection

Supersonic inspection is conducted in accordance with requirements of GOST 14782-86 "Nondestructive testing. Welded joints. Supersonic methods".

This standard determines methods of supersonic inspection of butt, angle, lap and tee joints, made with arc, electric-slag, gas, gas-pressure, electron-beam and butt-seam welding by burning-off in welded constructions made of metals and alloys for detecting cracks, incomplete penetrations, pores, nonmetallic and metallic inclusions.

X-ray inspection

X-ray inspection is conducted in accordance with requirements of GOST 7512-82 "Nondestructive testing. Welded joints. Radiographic method".

This type of inspection is applied when inspecting technological pipelines, metalware, manufacturing equipment made of steels, nonferrous metals and composite materials in different industrial sectors and building complex.

Visual inspection

Visual inspection control is used when it is necessary to check the quality of preparation and assembly of workpieces for welding, the quality of joints during welding and the quality of finished welded joints.

Usually visual inspection is used for checking all welded items without regard to any other types of inspection.

Liquid-penetrant inspection

Liquid-penetrant inspection is conducted in accordance with requirements of GOST 18442-80 “Nondestructive testing. Capillary methods. General requirements”.

In most cases according to technical requirements it is necessary to detect such small defects, which are practically impossible to be detected during visual inspection by the unaided eye. When using optical devices such as enlarging lens or microscope it is impossible to detect surface defects because of insufficient contrast of the defect image against the background of metal and because of the little field of vision per high power.

Mechanical testing

Mechanical testing determines hardness and operational reliability of welded joints. Main methods of mechanical testing of the welded joint and its separate zones are determined in GOST 6996-66 “Welded joints. Methods of mechanical testing”. It provides static and impact tests at normal, but in some cases at low or high temperatures.

Welded joints of critical structures made of high-strength materials or designated for exploitation under conditions of negative temperatures and vibratory loading additionally pass life testing against brittle fracture and endurance.
